I began landscaping in 1987 when I sold my natural food store in Toronto and moved to the country in Eastern Ontario. There I began apprenticing with Paul Loiselle at Kiwi Gardens near Perth. I worked for Paul and then his new partner, David Ramsden, for a number of years.

Stone Garden began in the mid 1990's. Back then I was working for Kiwi Gardens, Blasig Landscaping and Passagement Trillium and learning the business. In 2001 I started full time on my own. I have been at it ever since.
